All-on-4 Implantes dentales in Turkey: Planning Full-Arch Treatment in Istanbul

All-on-4 is a full-arch treatment concept in which a fixed dental restoration is supported by four strategically positioned implants. Eva Smile & Aesthetics helps international patients organise preliminary information and coordinate defined non-clinical stages of All-on-4 treatment in Istanbul.

What Is the All-on-4 Treatment Concept?

The All-on-4 concept uses four implants to support a complete arch of replacement teeth. The posterior implants may be angled to make use of available bone. The name describes a treatment concept, not a guarantee that four implants are suitable in every case.

The responsible dental professional may recommend a different number or position of implants after reviewing bone, gums, bite, medical history and restorative needs.

Who May Be Considered for All-on-4?

All-on-4 may be considered for adults who have lost most or all teeth in an arch, have severely compromised remaining teeth, or are seeking an alternative to removable dentures. It is not suitable for everyone.

Assessment may include general health, smoking, diabetes control, gum disease, bone volume, sinus anatomy, bite forces, oral hygiene ability and expectations.

Assessment and Digital Planning

Planning normally includes a clinical examination, dental imaging, review of medical and dental history, evaluation of remaining teeth and gums, and assessment of the upper and lower jaw relationship.

Three-dimensional imaging and digital scans may be used when clinically appropriate. Photographs or an online review cannot confirm the final implant positions or prosthetic design.

The All-on-4 Treatment Process

  1. Initial enquiry and review of available records

  2. Clinical examination and diagnostic imaging

  3. Individual implant and restoration planning

  4. Removal of unsuitable teeth where required

  5. Placement of the planned implants

  6. Temporary restoration where clinically appropriate

  7. Healing and osseointegration

  8. Final digital scan or impression

  9. Placement and adjustment of the final full-arch restoration

  10. Maintenance and follow-up

Immediate Temporary Teeth

A temporary fixed restoration may sometimes be fitted soon after implant placement. This depends on implant stability, bone condition, bite, surgical findings and the clinician's judgement.

Immediate teeth are not guaranteed. A removable temporary option or a healing period without a fixed restoration may be recommended.

Bone Grafting and Additional Procedures

One potential advantage of angled implant placement is that it may reduce grafting needs in selected patients. However, All-on-4 does not eliminate the need for grafting or other procedures in every case.

The clinician should explain any extraction, bone augmentation, sinus-related procedure or soft-tissue treatment included in the plan.

Risks and Possible Complications

All-on-4 treatment is invasive and is not risk-free. Possible risks may include pain, swelling, bleeding, infection, delayed healing, implant failure, gum recession, altered sensation, sinus-related complications, speech or bite adaptation, fracture or loosening of temporary or final components and the need for additional treatment.

Smoking, uncontrolled health conditions, active gum disease, inadequate hygiene and heavy bite forces may increase risk.

Recovery and Adaptation

Temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness or minor bleeding may occur after treatment. Patients may need a modified diet and must follow personalised hygiene, medication and activity instructions.

Speech, chewing and the feel of a full-arch restoration may require an adaptation period. Contact the treating provider for unexpected pain, persistent bleeding, fever, increasing swelling, discharge, altered sensation or a loose restoration.

How Long Does All-on-4 Treatment Take?

There is no single timeline. Treatment depends on extractions, bone condition, implant stability, healing, temporary restoration requirements, laboratory stages and follow-up.

The definitive restoration is commonly planned after an appropriate healing period. The required number of trips and appointments must be confirmed individually.

All-on-4 Cost in Turkey

Cost may be affected by the implant system, number of arches, extractions, imaging, grafting, sedation or anaesthesia, temporary teeth, final restoration material, laboratory work and aftercare.

A written quotation should identify the proposed treatment, implant components, temporary and final restoration, inclusions, exclusions, payment stages and possible additional costs.

Travelling to Istanbul for All-on-4

Allow enough time for examination, treatment, initial recovery and scheduled checks. Travel plans should remain flexible until the final clinical plan is confirmed.

Verify the healthcare provider, treating professionals, implant system, restoration material, expected stages, emergency contacts and aftercare arrangements.

Cleaning and Long-Term Maintenance

An All-on-4 restoration requires daily cleaning underneath and around the bridge, professional maintenance and periodic clinical and radiographic review.

Implants and prosthetic components are not lifetime guarantees. Screws, temporary teeth or the final restoration may require adjustment, repair or replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions About All-on-4

Does All-on-4 always use exactly four implants?

The concept commonly uses four implants per arch, but the responsible clinician may recommend a different plan based on individual findings.

Can I have fixed teeth on the same day?

A same-day temporary restoration may be possible in selected cases but cannot be promised before treatment and stability checks.

Is All-on-4 suitable if I have bone loss?

It may be considered in some cases of bone loss, but imaging and examination are required. Additional procedures or another approach may be recommended.

Are All-on-4 teeth removable?

The fixed restoration is normally removed only by a dental professional. Patients still need to clean carefully underneath it.

How long does the restoration last?

No exact lifespan can be guaranteed. Hygiene, health, smoking, bite, maintenance and restoration material all influence longevity.

How many trips to Istanbul are needed?

The number depends on the treatment stages, healing and final restoration plan.

What happens if an implant does not integrate?

The treating clinician must assess the cause and explain the available options, timing and possible additional cost.
